The largest city in Costa Rica, San Jose is also the capital city and major transportation hub of the country. A lively city, there is much to do in San Jose. There are numerous restaurants, bars, clubs, art galleries, shops, and universities. Also noteworthy is the only major theme park in Costa Rica, the Gold Museum and Jade Museum, theater, and botanical gardens.
