Tamarindo, located in the province of Guanacaste, is situated on the Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Just 45 minutes from the international airport in Liberia, Tamarindo also has its own airstrip. Tamarindo is famous for its sport fishing for marlin, sailfish, and giant tuna. Water sports are also extremely popular in the warm waters off the beach. Visitors can delight in surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and other sports. For landlubbers, horseback riding and golfing are also available. The climate in Tamarindo is hot, temperatures average 80 – 100 degrees Farenheit year-round, and there is a marked dry and rainy season.
